Review: LSI – LoL Summoner Information
Today, in2LOL is bringing you something different: A review of a third-party tool called LSI – LoL Summoner Information.
You just got into a game, picked up those shiny boots and your daily ration of tomato juice, but somehow you’re bored. Not much going on for the first two minutes, hopefully your top doesn’t feed for once and the dude with the new champion has actually played him before. You decide to quickly check the enemy team on lolking, but by the time you find out that “MiIey Cyrus” is actually written with a capital “i” the minions spawn.
But guess what: you’re doing it wrong ! “LSI – LoL Summoner Information” gathers all the information you could think of in a few seconds and presents it with a handy-dandy overlay, letting you start off your matches a lot more prepared.

LoL Summoner Information makes data such as ratings, ranked stats and champion specific stats on a per-season base, both for every summoner individually and as team averages available to you. It was originally released in July and is at v1.14 right now.
After downloading the file (ca. 5MB), an installer window pops up and after a few short seconds you’re good to go. [Care: a few overly cautious anti-virus tools (confirmed for Norton) will delete the executable due to a false positive at this point, you will have to restore it in this case.]
Once the installation is finished, the main window will open, presenting to you information about updates, general stuff and the navigation to other windows. You can easily change various ingame settings, write a message to the developer, minimize the tool and much more.
But most importantly: The stat window can be popped up ingame with a configurable hotkey and appears either as an overlay or as an independent window if using borderless mode causes too much FPS loss. Computation of stats starts once loading screen is finished so it may take a few seconds until you can see all the information.
The information shown is designed for different purposes, but if you feel like a column is not relevant or even disturbing you can simply hide it. The tool also provides team averages for each statistic so it gets easy to compare the opposing parties. Whilst having the ratings of all players allows for a quick comparison, the more detailed stats open up a lot of possibilites to find out about potential weaknesses and strengths of both teams.
To ensure a convenient use, LoL Summoner Information provides 8 different languages (steadily growing), a colorblind mode and supports 5 different servers (EUW, EUNE, NA, BR, KR).
Concerning legal issues: Riot has confirmed that LSI is on the same level as pretty much all other tools out there (e.g. elobuff, lolking.net, duowan, elophant, legendsnet …). Though it imposes a possible violation of the terms of use Riot is aware of its existance and has actively decided to not take actions against this third-party tool. In case this is going to change in the future (very unlikely), this would never come without a warning.
Conclusion: LSI shows a lot of information that is interesting and useful to know with an appealing user interface and a variety of options which makes it highly adaptable to ones needs. Having a better idea about what to expect from both the enemies and your teammates can only increase your chances of winning. But in case you were going to check those stats anyways, it can save you a lot of time and effort. Highly recommended !
