THOR Open 2012 – Updated!
Organised by Fragbite and CDON, the THOR Open 2012 will take place at the Kistamässan, Stockholm, Sweden. The event will feature Europe’s finest League of Legends teams as they fight for a prize pool of 100,000 SEK.

The Event
Hosted at the former site of the Gamex Convention the two day THOR Open 2012 promises to be a cracker. A total prize pool of 600,000 SEK will be up for grabs, spread across StarCraft II, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, League of Legends, Battlefield 3, Super Street Fighter IV and FIFA ’13. The event will is sponsored by Intel, SteelSeries, Fractal, MSI, Seagate, Dell and Corsair. It will be held on the 8th and 9th of December.
But of course, we are primarily interested in the League of Legends component, which will offer a prize pool of 100,000 SEK, one-sixth of the overall prize pool. But not all participating teams will get a piece of the pie as only the top 3 out of the eight teams in the tournement will be rewarded with prize money.

The winner takes it all and this tournement will definitely bring out the fighting spirit of all the participating teams. But who exactly are the eight teams?

These teams earned their spots by placing first in one of the eight qualification tournaments which were held from October to November. Including the highest elo player of all time,

Martin ‘Rekkles‘ Larsson and not to forget our lovable gragas look-a-like
Maciej ‘Shushei‘ Ratuszniak this tournement showcases a big variety of players whom we should all be looking out for.

* All the marked teams aren’t able to attend in this tournament due to schedule conflicts with the ESL Season 3 qualifier. According to the official Groupstage brackets there will be no replacements.
