Riot Games’ Season 3 is approaching very fast and the creators of the wildly popular eSport League of Legends have been using the opportunity to ban a few “toxic” professional players. I Will Dominate who played for Team Dignitas was one of the first casualties a few months ago, but now another two have received permanent bans for their “toxic behaviour”, this time hailing from Against All Authority and Mousesports.

[Both players have] consistently engaged in behavior which violates the letter and spirit of the Summoner’s Code. [Their] persistent tendency to engage in verbal abuse, insults and offensive behavior is unacceptable for any player, especially a high-profile eSports competitor who has a regular opportunity to lead the community by example. bitingpig, Riot Tribunal

Ilyas “mouz enVision” Hartsema and Damien “aAa Linak” Lorthios are today’s offenders, with bitingpig, Senior eSports Manager at Riot Games, stating on the forums that their harassment scores peaked in the top 0.06% of worst offenders.

One player receiving 436 reports in only 135 games is a whopping 3.23 reports per game; even Baron Nashor must have been attempting to report him. There is the worry that Riot Games are trying to make examples out of such public figures, but 3.23 reports per game is a pretty telling statistic.

The progress towards the commencement of Season 3 continues this weekend with the European Qualifier in which both teams mentioned above are also still currently slated to appear in. There is no word yet on who will replace these players.
