Legendary of Lame Week #14

Greetings Summoners! In this week’s Legendary or Lame, we have news on Quinn and Valor, the new Health Bars, restricted Chat Mode on the PBE, a new champion rotation, the champion and skin sale and a new Pro Player Pick.





Quinn and Valor, Demacia’s Wings

Quinn and Valor, Demacia’s Wings, will soon be rocking the Fields of Justice. This duo will be pinning down opponents through agile and precise attacks. ‘Harrier’ and ‘Heightened Senses’ will make Quinn an excellent last-hitter and creates chances for her to go offensive on enemy champions. But this duo also comes with defensive abilities such as ‘Heightened Senses’ to check for ganks and ‘Vault’ to maintain a safe distance between Quinn and her enemies. If an opponent is still coming in too close, ‘Blinding Assault’ will blind them for a short duration. But the fun begins once Quinn and Valor gain access to ‘Tag Team’. ‘Tag Team’ allows Quinn to leave the battlefield and have Valor take her place. Valor is a melee monster, which excels in pursuing wounded enemies and cleaning up team fights. When Quinn returns, she brings a hail of arrows down on all the nearby enemies!





Health Bars



With the current health bars, it’s a bit hard to see how much health a champion has, especially when the numbers are heading into the thousands. That is why Riot is coming with an update for the UI to make it easier for the players to see the amount of health a champion has. When you cross the 1,000 health threshold, a full and dark stripe will appear in the bar. A small, half stripe is still equal to a 100 health. See the images below for an in-game view.

Player Behavior Experiments and Restricted Chat Mode on PBE



The Player behaviour team at Riot believes that bans are not exactly the best solution for dealing with toxic players. Sometimes a banned player will just create a new account and continue his or her toxic behaviour and ruin the experiences of low level players. The Player behaviour team is always trying to create new features that can help toxic players reform their behaviour. Running these features on the PBE can allow players to join these experiments and shape the future of the League of Legends community. The first experiment is going to be a restricted chat mode. Toxic players will be placed in the restricted chat mode, where their ability to participate in the ‘All Chat’ is disabled. Also, these players will have a limited number of chat messages that they can send to the ‘Team Chat’. To unlock this restriction on their account, these players must play a number of matches where they show positive and non-toxic behavior. This is going to be the first experiment in a series that will all be focused on replacing bans with alternative punishments that encourage players to improve their behaviors, and you will see this feature on the PBE shortly.





New Champion Rotation



This week’s new champion rotation includes: Ezreal, Fiddlesticks, Galio, Garen, Gragas, Morgana, Shen, Soraka, Talon and Trundle! Make sure to try out these amazing champions if you haven’t.
